This design of this earthenware teapot with vine handle reflects the traditional rustic aesthetics of Shigaraki-yaki.

The black glaze evokes the calligraphy "sumi" inky tone which is different from matte black and has a subtle ash tone to it.

It is well proportioned with a comfortable hold and ease of use.

A fine ceramic strainer is fired together with it.
