Mekiri Burgeon Shears Double Edged by Banshu Hamono

Known for their incredible sharpness and incredible durability, Banshu Hamono products are designed and made by Osami Mizuike – a master Japanese craftsman who has been making knives, scissors and razors for many years.

This classic double edge mekiri scissors are entirely crafted from premium carbon steel, and are perfect for trimming bonsai, thin branches, leaves and sprouts. The blades can be continually re–sharpened and are built to last for decades. Handmade in the small town of Ono, Japan. Lightweight and relatively thin the scissors make clean cuts without leaving any unsightly fibers behind.

Each piece is hand forged and sharpened using traditional methods. As such, each tool has its own variations and irregularity.

Banshu is a region of Japan that produces various professional-grade and home-use blades. These blades include the classic utility knife; the traditional Japanese razor, used by barbers and geisha alike; the nigiri basami gripping shears, used in thread cutting and artisanal craft making; traditional pruning shears, used by gardeners for generations; beauticians’ shears; cutting shears; culinary shears; and floral shears. The Banshu Hamono brand is a collection of the very finest of these products.
